KID Sleep Labs has designed music to help children fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer. We’re three tired dads on a mission to share our music and provide "better sleep, for everyone".
We believe that each child is unique, as is their taste in music and what they may find relaxing. We have crafted four beautiful songs, which are meant to provide different paths to the same outcome: an easy transition to a sound night’s sleep.
We highlight “Carsyn’s 1st” as it was the song that initially inspired our mission and has worked like magic for our own families. Some families have found our other songs to be a better fit, find the one your child likes best; we’re just here to help.
Sleep experts and parents alike will tell you, routine is everything. Proper sleep includes setting the right lighting, noise level and preparing your child for sleep. If you are lucky enough to discover KID Sleep Labs before your little one has arrived, we suggest playing it as mommy goes to sleep. As pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp, author of “The Happiest Baby on the Block” says, a newborn is really not prepared to leave the womb and needs to be reminded of the cozy, secure environment for at least the first 3 months of life, the so-called “fourth trimester”. Our music is designed to replicate elements of the environment the baby knows best, inside the womb. This will ease your child to sleep from the time they’re a newborn through their first decade of life.
Our music is engineered for better sleep in children (and adults) of all ages. We have created multiple songs intended to unwind and calm children after a busy day and prepare them for sleep. It is best played as they are getting into bed and part of their bedtime routine. If you make it part of their bedtime experience they will expect it and ask for it. The slow, melodic flow will carry them off to sleep. The tranquility of the music will also help maintain sleep and can be left on all night. Others however will simply stop the music once their child is asleep. Remember it may take a few nights to establish a routine and see the benefits of making KID Sleep Labs part of bedtime in your home.
Setup:
KID sleep labs can be used on an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The musical experience is best when it is uninterrupted. Therefore, we suggest a few things to ensure that texts, phone calls and emails don’t mess with the relaxing journey to sleep. The device can be left in the room where the child is sleeping or streamed to a bluetooth compatible speaker via AirPlay. If you use the app on a spare device, great, either way we recommend the following:
− Turn your ringer OFF (rocker switch on side of the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch)
− Put the “Do not disturb” feature ON by tapping the moon on your control center (pull up menu from bottom of home or lock screen)
− For the most ideal setup, turn your “Airplane mode” ON and turn “Wifi” OFF (WARNING: you will not receive phone calls, messages or any emails with this setup)
− Keep the device plugged in if you plan to use it all night, either in its charger or a dock.
